msi backpack amazon

One of the big complaints about full-featured VR headsets like the Oculus Rift or HTC Vive is that they must be tethered to a PC. MSI might have a solution, though, with its new Backpack PC. The Windows 10-based device runs Intel's Core i7 processors and Nvidia GeForce GTX980 graphics. MSI built the Backpack PC as an alternative to traditional desktops, many of which cannot handle resource-intensive virtual reality headsets. According to Ars Technica, which got some hands-on time with the device at Computex, it comes with ports for HDMI, USB, and more. In addition, users will find that it can last for up to 90 minutes of gameplay before requiring a recharge. However, the backup weighs a whopping 12 pounds, which could make it difficult to carry around for some users. According to Ars, MSI's Backback PC is capable of having its parts swapped out for others and the battery is replaceable, which should allow users to game for longer. MSI has yet to reveal its pricing on the Backpack PC and the company would only say that it'll be available later this year.

It was unveiled at Computex alongside other gaming devices, like new GT and GS laptops. Posted by PCMag on Tuesday, May 31, 2016Heads up, Geek readers! Amazon’s homepage exploded this morning, showering the Internet with new hardware. They’ve got four new tablets and three new members of the Fire TV family. First up is the Fire. No Kindle, mind you… just Fire. It’s the dirt-cheap tablet we saw leaked a few days ago, and Amazon says it “sets a new standard for a tablet under $50.” By under $50, they mean $49.99. And by $49.99, they mean you can get them for as little as $41.66 if you buy in bulk. Yes, they’re actually selling them in a six pack like the one you see at the top of the page, and it’s buy five get one free.

Should a little one decide to put that kid-proof claim to the test and actually manage to break a Kids Edition, Amazon will replace it at no cost.
backpack deer drag Amazon also introduced two new Fire HD tablets — and interestingly enough, neither of them has a true HD display. Both the Fire HD8 and HD10 come with a 1280 x 800 resolution, but that allows Amazon to keep the prices down. The 8GB HD8 sells for $149.99 and the 16GB HD10 for $229.99. You can pay a few more bucks if you want to double up on built-in storage. The HD8 and HD10 are powered by a quad-core chip that runs at up to 1.5GHz, just like the Fire HD6 they’re joining. They have slightly better cameras — 720p on the front and 5MP on the back — as well as improved WiFi with 802.11ac support. Last but not least are the new Fire TV devices: two set-top boxes and a stick. The new $39.99 Fire TV Stick features a dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of on-board storage.

It also comes with a voice-enabled remote, which means Gary Busey can just shout what he wants to watch instead of clicking through things. Move up to the Fire TV, and you get twice the processing cores, twice the RAM, and 802.11ac WiFi. You can also expand the Fire TV’s storage via both micro SD and a USB 2.0 port. And even though 4K content is still fairly hard to come by, the Fire TV is ready to play it for you. The new Fire TV is priced at $99, and you can add on a gaming controller if you decide one day that you want to use it like a console. If already know you want to do some serious gaming with the Fire TV, you can opt for the Gaming Edition. It’s the same box, but it comes with a controller, two games, and a 32GB micro SD card. There’s no voice remote in the $139.99 package, though, but you don’t need it. The controller has the same functionality built right in. fire-2What’s in the $50 Fire packagefireThe Fire HD8fire-hd8Fire HDfire-hd-line-upThe new Fire tabletsfire-kidsFire Kids Editionfire-tv-4kThe 4K-ready Fire TVfire-tv-gamingFire TV Gaming Editionfire-tv-stickThe 2015 Fire TV Stick
