Used these cycling across Canada. The one time water got into the panniers everything in these bags was wet. Not waterproof at all reall dissapointing The rolling & closing mechanism works, but only if they are not very full. Totally not water tight like the package says. But it it is useful for keeping your things dry in a rucksack. Not bad for the money but do not buy if you want an actual dry bag. I liked it initially ... until I tested it - this is NOT WATER PROOF!!! - it's called a 'DRY' sack - it's supposed to be waterproof!! That's the entire point of this thing!!

I used these bags on my kayak and the bags only had moderate contact with water. All contents were wet when removed. Not fit for purpose!! First two bags were fine, but the largest one didn't have the closure at the top. Nice for putting stuff in in my backpack, but not waterproof at all. Dedicated in 1872, the area is home to hot springs, geysers, canyons and wildlife such as wolves, elk and grizzly bears.

If you are planning a visit to one of the park's seven campgrounds, pack the appropriate food and pay attention to safety restrictions. Food Whether you plan on staying near your campground or venturing to the Old Faithful Geyser, a bag of dried fruit and nuts will carry you a long way. Almonds, peanuts and dried apples and cherries cannot be squashed and won't spoil during your stay. Yellowstone has many hiking trails near Mammoth Hot Springs and Lamar Valley; if you are taking one of these day hikes, bring protein bars for energy. The National Park Service advises against cooking odorous foods at camp so as not to attract bears. Sandwiches are a good idea for dinner, so transport cold cuts, vegetables and fixings in a cooler. Beverages Don't drink water from the lakes and rivers unless you first bring it to a boil. When possible, transport bottled water in a backpack. You may bring wine or alcohol, but open containers are restricted in all areas of the park. Keep in mind that during the summer, temperatures reach the high 70s, so bring extra water and sports drinks with electrolytes to keep you hydrated.

Conversely, winter temperatures dip to the single digits, so pack evaporated milk and hot cocoa packets that you can turn into warm beverages. Camping Safety Bears have a strong sense of smell, so you must safely store and hang all food items on suspension poles. Never prepare any meals inside your tent. Sleep at least 100 feet away from the suspension poles and/or sites where you do your cooking. Do not sleep in the clothes you wore to prepare food. Takeout Food Several restaurants in the area have takeout services. Gardiner's Sawtooth Deli (no website; 220 Park St., Gardiner, MT; 406-848-7600) serves breakfast foods and steaks, but its sub sandwiches are probably the easiest to transport and eat on the go. At the Geyser Grill (no website; 615 Highway Ave., West Yellowstone, MT; 406-646-4745), you can take salads, sandwiches, desserts and drinks to go. For baked goods, visit the Old Faithful Lodge Cafeteria (no website; South Old Faithful Bypass Road, Yellowstone National Park, WY; 307-344-7311), which offers cinnamon rolls, pretzels, muffins, cookies and freshly made sandwiches.
