To celebrate One Piece Film: Gold and the shipment of over 3.7 million figures, MegaHouse, makers of the Portrait Of Pirates series, conducted a survey asking voters to choose future re-releases.  The results are now in, and seven different characters have been chosen. Ace, Fujitora, Law, Sengoku, Shanks, Marco and Luffy will be reissued in 2017. The original versions of some of these figures have become rather expensive over the years, so this is a great chance to get them at a better price. The Ace and Fujitora figures are now available for pre-order and will be released in January and February respectively. Portrait Of Pirates NEO-DX Portgas D. Ace 10th Limited Version Ace received the highest number of votes in the poll and will be the first re-release of 2017. This 1/8 scale PVC and ABS figure measures approximately nine inches tall. Although non articulated, Ace does come with an additional facial expression as well as an interchangeable arm that can be posed holding his backpack or touching his hat.

The hat, complete with hanging skull, can be removed for additional display options. The sculpt on Ace’s arms and torso looks great. The muscles look pretty realistic and are painted with subtle tones that bring out their dimensions. Although he isn’t wearing a lot of clothing, what he is wearing has a lot of detail. His various belts and buckles are accurately recreated and sit naturally on his body. His backpack is lined with eye-catching rivets, and the string closure under the flap is a nice touch. It is easy to see why this figure got so many votes. This particular version of Ace looks amazing, and the two facial expressions included really capture his character very well. Price: $94.99 plus shipping Release Date: January 2017 Portrait Of Pirates Sailing Again – Admiral Fujitora Admiral Fujitora will be the second figure re-released in 2017. Like Ace, Fujitora is 1/8 scale and is made of PVC and ABS. With a height of 9.4 inches, his pose is fixed and does not come with interchangeable parts.

He stands with his feet apart, drawing his sword, Marine cloak draped over his yukata. MegaHouse typically does a great job with fabric, and this sculpt captures the various folds and wrinkles really well.
